Die Jungs von MGMT spielen irgendwie voll schleimigen IndieElectroGlamPop. Als ich da beim ersten mal in das Album Oracular Spectacular reingehört habe, wusste ich auf die Schnelle nicht so recht, was ich davon zu halten habe. Nach dem Erwerb des Albums muss ich jedoch gestehen, dass die Songs so langsam in mir reifen und ich mich von der cheesigen Atmosphäre wohlig besudeln lasse. Die Band sagt selber über sich:"Einige Songs schrieben wir nur, weil wir lernen wollten, wie man besonders schlecht in einem bestimmten Genre ist. Plötzlich begannen die Leute den Song zu mögen, weil sie das Genre mochten."
So setzte ein riesen Bloghype ein und MGMT haben einen vier Alben Deal bei Sony unterzeichnet, der ihnen völlige kreative Freiheit gewährleistet. Man darf gespannt sein was da noch kommt. Hier das Video zu "Time to Pretend".. Knaller Song mit Knaller Text...
